It was a hot afternoon but everyone at the party was happy. They enjoyed playing games, watching NEA educational video show, chatting away with neighbours and munching the "Old Chang Kee" curry puffs at the same time. The kids were excited with the free flow of pop corn and candy floss while busy making noise from their party kits. There were gifts for everyone after the games.

The dialogue with our MP, Mr. Inderjit Singh together with senior grassroots leaders and representatives from some government agencies went on smoothly with many suggestions being brought out by our residents. The RC will follow-up on those suggestions with the relevant authorities as advised and supported by Mr. Inderjit Singh.

Fire, Fire, Fire

This is how it looked like after a fire on a PVC rubbish bin being placed at the stairwell of Blk 231. We do not know what time the fire started nor who did it though we suspected it to have happened during the wee hours on 24 Mar. Was it caused by a burning cigarette butt? Does anyone know what had happened?

Repair and Redecoration at Blk 223, 225 and 226

The Town Council is currently repairing spalling concrete at common areas. Painting of these blocks would commence towards the end of Mar and last till end of Sep 11.

The Official Launching of Youth Chapter on 19 Feb 2011

Palm View Youth Chapter was officially launched by our Adviser, Mr. Inderjit Singh on 19 Feb 2011. Till date, we had 29 registered members and we are still growing. We welcome residents whose age between 12 and 35 to join us to make more friends to have great fun, learn new skills and get involved in our community.

Inter-Generation Family Carnival on 5 Mar 2011

Tickets at our RC Centre were fully sold. Residents can still purchase the tickets at the Kebun Baru Community Club at Ang Mo Kio Ave 4 (opposite the MacDonald restaurant).

Gardeners' Day Out on 12 Mar 2011

For thoses who have registered to go, please gather outside our RC Centre at Blk 225 at 8.30am to board the bus.

All 40 tickets were fully sold. We thank our residents for their support.

Final Statement of Flat Upgrading Poll for Flat Upgrading Works (Ang Mo Kio Ave 1 Precinct) Dated Friday, February 11, 2011

We had more than 90% of the eligible residents voted in favour of the HIP for Blk 221,222,223, 225 and 226. This means the project can now go ahead. Congratulations to all!

The Essential Improvement items are fully funded by the Government, while the Optional Improvements chosen by Singapore Citizen Households are heavily subsidised depending on the flat type.

HIP for this precinct will start from the first quarter of 2011 and complete by the first quarter of 2013. During this period, HDB will provide a common air-conditioned study room, rest area, temporary toilets, emergency plumbing and electrical services and an information centre on site to address the concerns of affected residents. We ask for your understanding as we work towards creating a better living environment for you and your family.

Pizza Party for the Youth Chapter on 22 Jan 2011

This party is intended to allow youths from various parts of Singapore to come together to share ideas on how this Youth Chapter should be run and the type of activities they want to see.

We invite the youths to take on this challenge to shape the course of this new grouping and be the pioneers, the champions.

A total of 25 youths turned up for the party to interact and brain storm. They had chosen bowling to be their next coming together on 19 Feb 2011.
