Unserviceable Bicycles

Some bicycles parked at the void deck are unserviceable (with missing parts) and they seemed to have left unattended for a long period of time. We prefer to give our limited parking lots to regular bicycle users therefore we strongly advise the owners to remove these unserviceable bicycles

About Us

Our Vision - A unique community with strong grassroots leadership and high level of volunteerism and active community involvement among the residents

我们的愿景 - 一个拥有强大基层领袖体制以及更多居民参与志愿工作与活动的独特社区

Our Mission - Maintain a cordial relationship with residents and governmental agencies while reinvent and revitalize to recreate the kampung spirit in our community
我们的使命 - 在保持对居民以及各政府机构和谐关系的同时,重造具有活力的社区甘榜精神

The Residents' Committee (also known as RC) was formed on 1st July 1978. It was one of the earliest RCs being set-up in Singapore.   We are located at Blk 225 #01-567 Ang Mo Kio Ave 1. We take care of Block No. 221 to 235 which includes the Kebun Baru Mall (Blk 226A to H) consisting a few blocks of shop houses, a wet market and 2 food centers. Our role is to promote good citizenship, neighbourliness, harmony and cohesiveness among our residents. We also make recommendations to government agencies through the Peoples' Association on the needs and aspirations of our residents as well as to disseminate information to residents pertaining to government policies and help gather/channel feedback from residents to the relevant authorities.   In addition, we liaise with the various agencies such as the Ang Mo Kio Town Council, HDB and NEA on issues pertaining to property maintenance and environmental hygiene/cleanliness while working closely with the Police and SCDF to enhance the safety and security throughout our zone.

The Senior Citizens’ Club (also known as SCC) located at Blk 231 #01-1242 is a sub-committee organized under the purview of the RC. The SCC spearheads activities for our senior residents (age 50 and above) to promote healthy living and active ageing.

The committee members of both RC and SCC are made up of volunteers from different races, age groups and walks of life. Their passion and desire to serve our community in whatever capacity are most admired and appreciated. We therefore wish to invite more residents from Blk 221 to 235 to join us as Grassroots Members to experience volunteerism and subsequently becoming our committee members when you are ready to contribute more time. Together we can better advance the goals and objectives of the RC in pursuing a more vibrant and cohesive community so as to relive the kampung spirit in Singapore. You may complete the application form to become one of our most valued volunteers or email us at kebunbarupalmview@gmail.com to indicate your area of interest.

A volunteer has been tasked to each garden to help our RC/SCC to coordinate and manage all gardening affairs in these 2 gardens. They will provide supports and advices to our residents who are keen in community gardening. We strive to achieve the Ang Mo Kio Town Council Community In-Bloom (CIB) and NPark Community In-Bloom (CIB) Award in each year.    Residents who are interested in gardening may email to our sub-committee at kebunbarupalmview@gmail.com

Health Screening on 22 Nov 2009

A Health Screening for our residents age 50 and above was successfully conducted at the Senior Citizens' Club premises. They were briefed on their test results and told to seek medical advice on their existing conditions. We also encouraged them to exercise regularly, make more friends to stay mentally healthy and to be selective with their diet.
